Operation Hellhound

Operation Hellhound was one of the latest in the Operations Log. This operation was conducted just before Operation Red Dawn. (A highly dangerous Search & Rescue mission)

Operation Hellhound was lead by Captain "Optic". Task Force Ghost's Field Commander and by Captain "Sandstorm", Task Force Ghost's Deputy Field Commander.

The operation was simple. Search and destroy mission, clean and sweep was the motto.

The details on the mission were as follows.

Support teams would move in from the sea and be dropped off by Dodos. Two teams which were Alpha, then Delta mixed in with a few fireteam members from Charlie would be infilled by Black Hawks. Aviation will be flying the Dodos and Black Hawks, so air support will be not available.

Bravo team will move into the AO with insurgent pick ups and if needed will react as ground troop transport for an emergency exfill.

After the teams clean and sweep the AO and gather intel they will call in for exfil and all teams will leave the AO within 2 minutes. This Operation was to take only take 45 minutes.

However this did not go to plan.

When all the teams were in place, the support team moved in from the water and attacked from the rear, while Bravo would kill the guards and snipers, Alpha and the second team will move behind the insurgent pick ups into the base after being infilled.

The Operation was a huge success, no one was Injured and all enemies were accounted for. However when the Black Hawks came in for exfil one of them was shot down. The pilots died on impact and the helo exploded mid air. They were being attacked by a merry weather, Air to Ground jet. However it was capable of taking down such transport. The other Black Hawk was called off and went back to Sandy Shores Air Field to await for further orders.

The operators on the ground, only armed with one anti-air missile launcher, Ghost "Poseidon", took the anti-air launcher from the insurgent pick up that Bravo Team were carrying. As Field Commander Ghost "Optic" ordered the retreat, the ground teams moved with Bravo's two mechanized, heavy armoured vehicles and Ghost "Poseidon" put his life on the line and fell behind the line of Ghosts. He aimed and waited for the lock. He pulled the trigger and as the Air to Ground Fighter Jet was flying low, there was no time, nor room for anti-missile flares. "Poseidon" successfully took out the jet and managed to save all of his brothers in the process. "Poseidon" was later awarded the Silver Star for his actions in battle and selflessness to keep danger at bay.

But after he had taken out the Jet, the rest of the Ghosts were fighting off Merryweather enforcement soldiers and lightly armed little birds. "Poseiden" managed to get back to his team and they carried on moving forward.

After hours of flying through ammo and putting the wounded into the insurgents, Task Force Ghost operators managed to get to the next LZ. The Los Santos horse racing track.

When the first team arrived in the insurgent and by ground, they were still engaging armed Merry Weather personnel. The first blackhawk arrived at the LZ within 5 minutes of being called in. Alpha and Bravo loaded up their wounded and the support team covered them while doing this. Bravo team also exposed of the insurgent pick ups during this op, to holt the enemy forces from using them. The blackhawk picked up Alpha and Bravo as well as the support team that were assisting them.

On their way back to Sandy Shores, they undertook some rotor failure in their blackhawk. The blackhawk took a hard hit killing both pilots, or so it was thought. Luckily the rest of the men on board got out without heavy injuries. While this happened the secondary team arrived at the LZ and their exfil was successful, however in some reports it was said that the pilot took a bullet in the gut. However this was has not been confirmed.

Over the radio, team one had become attacked yet again by more of the MerryWeather security force. Captain "Optic" was the only one not injured and managed to pull out the dead pilots, while his team held off the incoming hostile forces. He and Ghost "Bishop" managed to destroy what remained of the blackhawk. Ghost "Reaper" called in for exfil from their unknown crash zone, but his flares came in handy for the pick up.

As the secondary team was dropped off back at FOB. The head of the aviation squadron. Nightstalker "Semtex" even on low fuel, manage to move into the crash site for the first team and retrieve them as they were disposing of what was left of the crashed bird. Even under heavy fire, and at black of night, the Aviation commander was able to flawlessly pick up the ground troops and get them home safe.

However when search teams went back for the dead, they could only find one of the bodies of the pilots who flew the first team home for exfil.

Meaning there was still an Operator left in the field... [Check Operation Red Dawn for further details]
